During my undergraduate studies, I demonstrated strong time management and learning adaptability, completing my psychology bachelor of science degree in three years while maintaining a high GPA and actively engaging in interdisciplinary research. Balancing multiple research projects with coursework refined my ability to analyze problems critically and work efficiently, which are the skills essential in HCDE’s interdisciplinary and project-based environment.

My psychology coursework has provided me with valuable insights into human behavioral science, which directly build user-centered design. During the engaging lecture/dicussion of cognitive psychology, I learned human information/cognitive processing, which allow me to minimize cognitive load and further improve UI/UX design; My study in social psychology enables me to learn about how cultural differences affect people’s decision-making, which contribute to cultural-inclusive universal design…

Besides, my academic journey in psych allow me to build empathy with marginalized groups. In my stress and coping lab, I analyzed participants data and structured formula to investigated how environmental and psychological factors can mutually impact caregivers' stress level. I learned how to work with high-stress populations and observed their underrepresented needs. In my further study in HCDE, I hope to utilize the intersection of psychology and design to create more inclusive, human-centered solutions
